CockRock 2009 was held on the 17th, 18th, 19th July and officially sold out!
This year’s festival attracted a great deal of attention, over 600 band applications were received and the festival saw over 135 bands play throughout the event, including headliners: The Shallow Call, The Holloway’s and Max Raptor, all of which went down a storm with the thousands of festival goers.
In addition CockRock 2009 has nominated for no less than three awards at The UK Festival
Awards 2009 (Best Small Festival, Grass Roots Festival Award, and Best Toilets) as well as a nomination for TGM award for Best Festival.
It is with great pleasure that from the proceeds of CockRock 2009 we are able to donate a fantastic £10,000 to be equally distributed between the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue and the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance. This year CockRock will also be donating £100 each to the Fire Service benevolent fund and Cancer Research.
Cockermouth Rock Festival continues to be one of the only Cumbrian based festival that donates the
vast majority of it’s proceeds to Cumbrian charities. In total the festival has now raised over £32,200
for the two charities
We are very proud that CockRock 2009 was a great success and are delighted to be able to
continually sustain our support for these very worthy causes. The cheque handover will take place in
early Nov 2009.
Of course all of this wouldnt be possible without the many people who have helped us along the way, so from all of us at CockRock we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone involved!
